MERIT AWARD APPLICATIONS

The deadline to apply is Friday, September 11, 2026.

AWARD ELIGIBILITY - 

Any current member of ABC Mississippi is eligible to submit an entry. Projects or work completed between September 1, 2025, and August 31, 2026, will be considered for 2026.

JUDGING CRITERIA - 

Entries will be judged based on difficulty, unusual features, contract time, budget, and quality of construction. Project photos and an accurate project narrative are critical for determining merit.

PROJECT CATEGORIES - 

You can download a printable PDF of all project categories. Categories 1-13 are for companies that perform general contracting or construction management. Categories 14-24 are for companies that perform specialty contracting and are not acting as the general contractor or construction manager. Out-of-state projects are noted with a check box. There is no separate category for out-of-state projects, and out-of-state projects are accepted.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS - 

All 2026 applications will be submitted online. A total of four entries may be submitted with no more than two projects per category, per company, including subsidiaries. Separate online entries are required for each project. Online applications and payment must be received by Friday, September 11, 2026. No exceptions will be made. Each application must include:

• Project Name, Location & Owner Name
• Architect & Engineer Names
• Four (4) digital color project photos with a resolution of 300 dpi or greater. Please label these files with a short version of your project name, such as the company name (i.e. Company-Name-1.jpg, Company-Name-2.jpg, etc.).
• A project narrative is a project description in a Word document highlighting the project’s key features. Project Narratives must be in 12-point font, double-spaced, and limited to a single page. To maintain anonymity, please do not use your company name in the description or company letterhead. The following items must be included in the Project Narrative: 
  • Project Name
  • Project Scope
  • Completion Time
  • Safety Information
  • Project Summary
  • Letter of Recommendation from Architect or Owner (OPTIONAL)
• Payment of $275 per entry either via credit card online or in the form of a check must reach ABC Mississippi by Friday, September 11, 2026, for the entry to be eligible. If paying online, all entries can be paid for in your first submission. Read online instructions carefully. If paying via check, it is not necessary to write one check per entry. One check times the total number of entries should be made payable to ABC Mississippi, 5165 Old Brandon Road, Pearl, Mississippi 39208.
