ABOUT US
Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) is a national construction industry trade association that was established on September 26, 1950 when seven contractors gathered in Baltimore, MD to create an Association based on the shared belief that construction projects should be awarded on merit to the most qualified and responsible low bidders. The Association represents more than 21,000 chapter members. Founded on the merit shop philosophy, ABC's membership represents all specialties within the U.S. construction industry and is primarily comprised of firms that work in the industrial and commercial sectors.
ABC Mississippi was founded in 1973 and is positioned as one of the largest ABC chapters in the nation. Representing over 100 general contractors, over 300 subcontractors, over 100 suppliers and over 100 associate members; ABC Mississippi is the most diverse construction trade association in Mississippi.
ABC Mississippi has achieved over 20 chapter excellence awards from ABC national for membership growth, safety, community service and performance. Key services and activities include government representation, education, simplified job and plan access, member discounts, insurance programs, access to key construction industry publications and networking events.
President Theodore Roosevelt said it best in 1908... “Every man owes a part of his time and money to the business or industry in which he is engaged. No man has a moral right to withhold his support from an organization that is striving to improve conditions within his sphere.”
